German Chancellor Angela Merkel, following U.S. President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, has congratulated Ukraine's President-elect Volodymyr Zelensky.
"I congratulate you on your election as President of Ukraine. The Federal Government will continue to vigorously assist Ukraine in its right to sovereignty and territorial integrity. I would be glad to welcome you soon in Berlin," the Federal Government's press service quoted Merkel as saying on April 22.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Central Election Commission of Ukraine has processed 95% of the protocols from the precinct election commissions in the second round of the presidential elections in Ukraine, stating some 73% of the voters supported presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky.
