Russian-led forces attacked Ukrainian positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, only once from 00:00 to 18:00 Kyiv time on Tuesday, January 8.
"Strongholds of our troops near the village of Novotoshkivske in the Luhansk sector were attacked with the use of grenade launchers of various systems along with small arms," the press center of Ukraine's Joint Forces Operation (JFO) said in an evening update on January 8.
No Ukrainian army casualties were reported.

"Despite bad weather conditions, the Ukrainian military continue countering the enemy along the contact line, abiding by the ceasefire. The situation in the JFO zone is under control," the update said.
As was reported, the enemy mounted five attacks on Ukrainian army positions on January 7; one Ukrainian soldier was wounded in action. There were five enemy attacks on January 6, four enemy attacks on January 5, and three enemy attacks on January 4; no casualties were reported on those days.
On January 3, Ukraine reported three attacks, one Ukrainian soldier was wounded. On January 2, no casualties were reported amid five enemy attacks. On January 1, there were three enemy attacks, as a result of which one Ukrainian soldier was killed in action, another two were wounded in action.
