Jimmy Kimmel cracks Putin joke at Oscars ceremony

ABC Late night host Jimmy Kimmel, who is the year's Oscar host, upped his politicized award show dialogue by joking about Russia's attempts to swing America's 2016 presidential election.

"Well, now at least we know Putin didn't rig this competition, right?" quipped Kimmel just after Icarus – a film on Russia's doping and performance enhancing drug scandals – was awarded the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature, Mediaite reported.

Additionally, he joked about Donald Trump’s Twitter habits, saying that a “tweet-storm from the president’s toilet” may be unleashed at some point during the awards show. 

As UNIAN reported earlier, "The Shape of Water" won best picture this year.
